The students of Widefield School District
3 are served by nine K-6 elementary schools,
three 7-8 junior high schools, two 9-12
high schools, and an alternative high
school. District enrollment totals about
8,500 students.
District 3 offers a comprehensive curriculum
for all students. In addition to an instructional
program that emphasizes mastery of basic
skills, district programs include:
· computer literacy
· gifted and talented programs
· outdoor education
· Head Start
· preschool for the handicapped
· Title I reading
· age-appropriate education for the severely,
moderately and mildly handicapped
· counselors in every school
· work study
· career preparation.
The community helps the school district
determine priorities and goals through
district and building level accountability
and advisory committees (DAAC and BAAC);
Parent Teacher Organizations; Superintendent's
Advisory Council; and a Long-range Planning
Committee.
